Import of payroll file in Excel

If you want to see your payroll file in Excel format, it is important that the file is opened in Excel the correct way, otherwise information in the payroll file may be damaged.

An example of information that may be corrupted is when the payroll file is being opened directly from the web browser (see below image) by double-clicking the file - The result of this method can at worst mean that the information in the payroll file may appear incorrect. 

To prevent this from happening, open the payroll file using the following method in Excel:

1. After clicking on "Create payroll file" as a user, the file is stored locally on your computer.

2.  Open Excel 

3. Press "Blank workbook"

4. Press "Data" at the top of Excel 

5. Press "From Text/CSV 

6. Locate the payroll file locally on your computer and press "Import"
7. Select "Load"

8. The payroll file is now loaded in Excel the correct way
