Power Outage – What Do I Do?
In emergencies where the cabinet loses power, it is important to access the keys safely without damaging the system. The cabinet’s digital functions will not operate during a power outage, but it is still possible to manually open the cabinet through the service door. Always follow the procedure carefully so the cabinet can function normally again once power is restored.
1. Battery Backup
The cabinet has a battery backup that can keep it operational for a few hours. The duration depends on how many times the cabinet is opened while running on battery.
2. No Power
If the cabinet is completely without power, open the cabinet via the service door using the service key. This is the safe way to access the keys without damaging the electronics.
3. Opening the Service Door
Locate the lock on the right side of the cabinet.
On top of the lock, there is a small switch that can be pushed backward to manually unlock the cabinet.
Note: When the cabinet is opened without proper login, all digital functions will be non-operational until the cabinet is restarted.
4. System with Locked Key Positions
If you are using a system with locked key positions, the wire must be cut to remove the keys.
This should only be done as a last resort when keys are urgently needed.
5. Closing the Service Door
Close the service door before attempting to use the keypad or panel again.
Once power is restored, check that the cabinet is functioning correctly and that all keys are in their proper positions.
