Ways to Register Trips in Mileage Book

Available to subscription: Free, Pro and Premium (automatic registration requires a GPS tracker)

You can register trips in three ways. Choose the one that best suits the way you work.

1. Automatically with a GPS tracker

A GPS tracker from Mileage Book is plugged into the vehicle's OBD port. Your trips are then registered automatically with times, addresses and route.

The registered trips are placed in "Review trips" at the top of the mileage book. This is where you go through the trips before they are included in your mileage report.

1. Tap "Mileage book", and choose "Review trips".
2. Tap a trip to check the trip type, purpose and any project and note.
3. Swipe the trip to the right to mark it as reviewed, or to the left to delete it.

"Review trips" is only shown when there is a GPS tracker on your account and the feature is turned on for the tracker under "More" and "Tracking devices". If it is turned off, trips are placed directly in the mileage book.

2. Start and stop in the app

You can register a trip with the phone's GPS by tapping start and stop.

Start and stop only works correctly if the app has access to your location with the setting "Always". Otherwise, the trip may stop when the phone locks the screen or the app goes to sleep while you are driving. See how to change the setting in Download & install the Kørebog app from Mileage Book.

1. Tap "Create", and tap "Start" when you start driving.
2. Enter the vehicle's odometer reading if you are asked to, and tap "OK".
3. Tap "Stop" when you arrive.
4. Enter the odometer reading at the end of the trip if you are asked to, and tap "OK".
5. Fill in the trip type and purpose, and tap "Save".

Trips from start and stop are saved directly in the mileage book.

3. Manual registration

If you forgot to register a trip, you can always create it manually.

In the app

1. Tap "+" in the mileage book, and choose "Trip - entered manually". You can also tap "Create" and then "Create new".
2. Fill in the from and to address. Tap the pencil next to the address to choose an address from a previous trip, your places or your home address.
3. Choose the trip type, purpose, car, date and time. The distance is calculated automatically.
4. Tap "Save".

On the web

1. Log in to your account on the Mileage Book website, and go to the "Mileage book" menu.
2. Enter the from and to address. The distance is calculated automatically.
3. Choose the trip type, and add the date and purpose.
4. Tap "Save".
