Projects (also called Cases) are an add-on module in Mileage Book that allows you to link mileage and optional time registration to specific projects or cases. The module provides better overview, documentation, and the possibility to set up separate approval flows per project/case.
The module enables you to register projects/cases on Mileage, Receipts, and Time Registration.
It is also possible to set up project integrations, allowing you to synchronize projects into Mileage Book directly from your ERP system.
Projects/Cases is an add-on module and must be activated on your account.
To have the module activated, please contact Mileage Book Support.
Choose Label: “Projects” or “Cases”
Once the module has been activated on your account, you can choose whether the feature should be displayed as:
- Projects
- Cases
You can change this here:
System Setup → System Parameters
In the right-hand column of the page, select whether the module should be shown as Projects or Cases.
Create, View and Edit Projects/Cases
When the module is activated:
- Go to the left-hand menu.
- Select Projects/Cases.
- Click “Create” to set up a new project or case.
When creating a project/case, you must:
- Enter a number
- Enter a name
- Define whether the project/case should have an alternative approval flow
This is relevant if certain projects must be approved by, for example, a project manager instead of the employee’s direct manager.
Integration with Time Registration
If you have also purchased the Time Registration module in Mileage Book, an additional section will appear on the project/case where you can:
- Assign specific employees to the project
- Define an estimated time allocation
- Follow up on resource usage
